Target Audience: Ophthalmologists, Residents, Medical Students, Ophthalmic Technicians (COT’s, COMT’s, and COA’s)

Learning Objectives:

Educational Goal: Our educational goal is to identify & explore the latest developments in the prevention, diagnosis, management, and treatment of ophthalmic conditions. After participating in this meeting, attendees should be armed with some best practices that can be readily implemented in their current practices. They should also gain an awareness of how future trends and developments will shape their future patient care and practice management endeavors.

After participating in our annual scientific meeting, participants will be better able to:

  • Analyze advances in ophthalmic medical research & determine implications for physicians & patients

  • Outline advances in prevention, diagnosis, management & treatment of ophthalmic conditions in the areas of cornea, cataracts, glaucoma, pediatric ophthalmology, and retina

  • Relate complications of ophthalmic disease & treatment. and outline ways to prevent or address these complications

  • Compare and contrast trends and developments in ophthalmology, and discuss opportunities for future diagnoses, treatment, and prevention

  • Evaluate best practices in diagnosis & management of ophthalmic conditions.

This activity has been approved for AMA PRA Category 1 CreditTM.

This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the accreditation requirements and policies of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) through the joint providership of Eastern Virginia Medical School and Virginia Society of Eye Physicians and Surgeons. Eastern Virginia Medical School is accredited by the ACCME to provide continuing medical education for physicians. 


Credit Designation:

Eastern Virginia Medical School designates this live activity for a maximum of 7.25 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits TM. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.
